If you are looking for support

Does a consultation cost anything?

No. It is free.

Can I talk to you without ID?

Yes. The consultation itself does not require ID.

However, where we meet you in person — for example an emergency response at night — we ask to see ID, for the safety of our staff.

Should I contact Toimikke directly?

No. With the staff we have, we are not able to respond to direct enquiries. Please start from the Get support page and go to the appropriate service from there.

I have used your support before. Can I contact you again?

If you have used Sekai Bivouac, you can reach us through the dedicated consultation form.

I live outside Tokyo. Can I still use your support?

The area covered differs by programme.

Donations

Can I get a receipt?

You can download it from the address given in your receipt email.

How do I cancel a monthly donation?

Your monthly receipt email contains a cancellation link. You can cancel at any time, with no correspondence needed.

Is my donation tax-deductible?

Toimikke is not currently a legal entity to which donation tax relief applies, so donations are not deductible. This is because we were founded recently. We are working towards changing it.

How are donations used?

Plans, budgets, activity reports and accounts for each fiscal year are published on the annual reports page.

Can I donate goods?

Yes. What we need at the moment is mobile batteries, portable food such as Calorie Mate, and QUO cards (prepaid gift cards). All of these go into emergency support packages and are handed over the same day.

Our activities

Where does the name "Toimikke" come from?

It means finding society’s questions (toi) early and spotting them (mikke). The logo draws on Meindert DeJong’s children’s novel The Wheel on the School, combining the stork, representing the social problem itself; the wooden shoe, which sparked its discovery; and the wheel, which made the solution possible.

Is Sekai Bivouac a Toimikke programme?

It is a joint programme with Tsukuroi Tokyo Fund. Toimikke is responsible for its design, analysis and app development.

Are you a certified NPO?

No. We are a specified non-profit corporation, certified by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government in October 2022.

How do we become a pickup spot?

Please see For companies. At present only companies and organizations can host a spot.

Can I volunteer?

We are not currently accepting volunteers who work on the ground, whether individuals or companies. Emergency support means handling personal information and urgent situations on the spot.

You can support the work by donating. Companies and organizations may also want to consider hosting a pickup spot.
